Product Specification of Chameleon Spot Color Printing Silicone

This product is an addition-type liquid chameleon printing silicone, suitable for the screen printing process in textile, shoe material, underwear, garment and home textile industries. The finished products after printing feature angle-dependent color shifting and iridescent effects, and possess excellent wash resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile resistance and scratch resistance. The film formed has a high surface gloss, meeting various fashion printing needs.

Product Features

Optical color shifting property: Displays different color effects from different viewing angles; the temperature-sensitive variant can achieve a dual effect where the color shifting effect disappears and the base color is revealed when the temperature exceeds 31℃.

Excellent physical properties: The formed film has good elasticity and strong adhesion, with resistance to washing, friction and stretching, and is not easy to fall off or crack.

High process compatibility: Supports the multi-layer lamination process of screen printing, and can be combined with color pastes and brighteners to achieve customized color and gloss effects.

Environmental protection: Made of high environmental protection raw materials, complying with the environmental protection standards of the textile printing industry, with no harmful volatile substances.

Applicable Processes and Supporting Consumables

(I) Applicable Processes

Screen printing process (both manual and machine printing available; diluent is not required for manual printing)

(II) Supporting Consumables

Screen mesh: 100-120 mesh (40-48T)

Squeegee: 65-75° bevel squeegee

Supporting additives: fast-drying catalyst/slow-drying catalyst, special diluent, high-density silicone base paste, bright silicone top paste, special color paste, chameleon powder

Others: drying tunnel/oven (temperature control accuracy ±5℃)

Usage Method (Standard Screen Printing Process)

(I) Mixing Ratio (by weight)

All raw materials must be fully stirred evenly before mixing, and accurately measured with an electronic scale to avoid performance impacts caused by ratio deviations. Silicone added with catalyst must be used up within the 72h pot life.

Base paste preparation: 100% high-density silicone base paste + 2% catalyst (fast-drying/slow-drying can be used alone or mixed) + 0-10% special diluent (no addition for manual printing)

Color paste preparation: 100% base paste stock + color paste (20% for white/fluorescent colors, 10% for other colors) + 2% catalyst

Chameleon paste preparation: 100% special silicone paste + 2-10% chameleon powder + 2% catalyst + 10-20% special diluent

Bright top paste preparation: 100% bright silicone top paste + 2% catalyst (2% chameleon powder can be added to enhance the iridescent effect)

(II) Printing Steps

Base coat printing: Print the prepared base paste for 4-5 layers; perform flash drying (100-120℃, 6-10s) after each layer until the surface is touch-dry before printing the next layer.

Color printing: Print the prepared color paste for 2 layers; perform flash drying according to the above parameters after each layer to ensure the surface is non-sticky.

Chameleon layer printing: Print the chameleon paste for 2 layers; perform flash drying after each layer to ensure an even color layer without base color exposure.

Bright top coating: Print the bright top paste for 1-2 layers, then conduct final drying and curing (120℃, 2-3min) after completion.

Cooling: Naturally cool to room temperature after final drying to obtain the finished printing effect.

(III) Notes

Clean the surface of the substrate thoroughly before printing to remove dust, oil and water stains to avoid affecting adhesion.

Sufficient flash drying must be carried out after each printing layer to prevent bubbles, color streaking and layer sticking caused by multi-layer lamination.

Catalyst must be added separately in proportion to the base paste, color paste, chameleon paste and top paste, and cannot be added after one-time mixing.

The addition amount of diluent shall not exceed 20%, otherwise the physical properties of the silicone film after formation will be reduced.

Packaging, Storage and Transportation

(I) Packaging

This product is packed in sealed 20KG plastic/iron drums, and the packaging specifications can be customized. The drum body is marked with product name, net content, production batch, shelf life and other information, and the sealing port is treated for leak prevention.

(II) Storage

Storage environment: Store in a dry, ventilated and cool warehouse with temperature controlled at 5-35℃, relative humidity ≤70%, away from open fire, high temperature and direct sunlight, and avoid ultraviolet radiation.

Sealing requirements: Keep unopened products sealed in their original packaging; use opened products as soon as possible, and reseal the remaining products in a timely manner to isolate air and moisture.

Storage requirements: Store different batches and different supporting additives separately to avoid contamination from mixed storage; raise the pallet bottom by 10-15cm to prevent moisture, and collect materials in accordance with the first-in first-out principle.

Special requirements: Silicone mixture added with catalyst must be used up within 72h and cannot be stored for a long time.

Regular inspection: Record the warehouse temperature and humidity daily; check the product packaging for integrity, moisture, discoloration, delamination and other abnormalities weekly, and isolate and handle problems in a timely manner if found.

(III) Transportation

This product is a non-hazardous material and can be transported as ordinary chemical products. Avoid severe collision, extrusion and falling during transportation to prevent packaging damage and leakage.

The transportation tool must be kept dry and clean without oil, acid, alkali and other corrosive substances; cover with a tarpaulin for long-distance transportation to prevent rain wetting and direct sunlight.

Handle with care during loading and unloading; when loading and unloading with a forklift/pallet, adjust the fork width to match the packaging size, lift and lower steadily to avoid packaging damage.

Fix the products during transportation to prevent shaking and slipping; load supporting additives and the main agent separately to avoid chemical reactions caused by mixed loading and leakage.

Safe Operation and Protection

Wear oil-resistant gloves, goggles and other protective equipment during operation to avoid direct contact of silicone stock solution with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with clean water; rinse the eyes and seek medical attention in a timely manner if contacted.

Keep the operating environment ventilated to avoid the accumulation of silicone stock solution volatiles; smoking and open fire are strictly prohibited in the operating area.

Avoid contact of this product with acid-base substances, organic solvents, heavy metal ions, etc., to prevent chemical reactions leading to product failure.

Dispose of waste silicone stock solution and packaging materials in accordance with the local environmental protection regulations for chemical waste, and do not discard at will to avoid environmental pollution.

 

Shelf Life

Under the condition of unopened package and compliance with the above storage requirements, the shelf life of this product is 360 days. The production date is shown on the spray code of the product package. Products beyond the shelf life can only be used after passing performance testing; those that fail the testing are prohibited from use.
